Hermit Crab Painting

For our last day of Underwater Adventures we started out by reading A House for Hermit Crab by Eric Carle.  Hermit realizes he has outgrown his shell, finds a new one but decides it needs some decoration.  He sets out to decorate his new home and makes several friends along the way.  Very cute story with Eric Carle’s amazing illustrations.

We then drew Hermit and his new friends in oil pastel.  We painted with liquid watercolor, using salt and rubbing alcohol to add texture.  These are really precious!
