Gelli Plate Printing

We had a crazy, busy week making Gelli plate prints.  Gelli plates make it possible to make mono prints without a press.  It is a lot of fun and can produce some very sophisticated results.  The hardest part is understanding how the layers work.  You have to think ahead because you are blocking out colors you want to keep as you add layers.  It took a few tries but most were really getting it by the end of class.  Since there are a lot of questions during this project, it works best when I hire helpers.  Unfortunately, I was only able to find helpers on Tuesday.  So, I wasn’t able to take many pictures.
