I can’t get over how gorgeous these chalk pastel birds turned out!  As I said in my last post, one of my students had been asking me to do a bird project.  I found a great calendar for inspiration and had the students use chalk pastel on black paper.  My 3rd-5th grade groups really did a fabulous job.  Some of them were a little nervous about drawing from a photograph, but they all did great.  Their individual styles are really showing through in this project.
