We did self portraits last spring, but I really like to have students do one or two a year.  It is so fun to see their progress.  There was a little grumbling when I said we would be doing self portraits again, but I think they were all impressed with how much they had improved.  Several students commented on how much better they did this year.

These were drawn with black crayon and painted with tempera paints.  I purchased mirrors for each student last year, and it has made all the difference!  I am amazed how much these portraits look like the artist.  Even the youngest ones have captured something about themselves.  I really can tell who painted each one.  I didn’t get a picture of all of them.  They were all fabulous!
