I love how these clipper ships turned out! Â The drawing of the ships was a bit more technical than our usual projects, and watercolor is much more difficult to handle than most people think. Â Even with those challenges, both classes did a fabulous job! Â I guided them through the drawing of the boat but allowed students to add land and other details on their own. Â They drew in pencil and then went over their lines with an extra fine Sharpie. Â Then they painted with pan watercolor. Â Getting the right ratio of paint and water was a challenge. Â Some of the students had enough time to work on graded washes to create shadows on the white sails.
