Wednesday’s K-2 group did just a great job finishing their painted owls!  We used tempera paint.  I encouraged them to explore different ways to make texture.

One new technique they learned was to add texture by painting over a color with a contrasting color and using the end of their brush to carve though the top layer, revealing the bottom color.  This was a little more challenging than just adding texture with painted lines.  These really turned out fantastic!
