Kachina Dolls

The first 3-D project in the “World Traveler” workshop was a Kachina Doll.  These dolls come from the Hopi indians of the southwest of the United States.  They were originally carved from roots and decorated.  These started out as a toilet paper roll, a piece of tin foil, and some paper mache.  We primed ours, added feathers, and then painted in traditional colors using acrylic paint.
